View Full Version : [fixed] VidBlaster doesn't really end? "Blue screen" of death

After launching VidBlaster and attempting to stream with UStream, I read the Forums and realized that UStream's HQ settings where causing me issues with VB. So I exited out of VB. I searched for more streaming services and found Live.yahoo.com
I set up an account and created a channel.
Although VidBlaster was not running, I saw the Vidblaster forum in the preview window. Now I had the screen capture up previously, just before ending VidBlaster. And what I had on the screen at the time I ended VB was what was seen in the live.yahoo.com preview pane.

I then attempted to launch VB again, and got the Blue Screen of death.

Did you reboot your machine after the HQ Ustream issue? You can run Ustream without HQ enabled and see if that works.

There are actually 2 more things at work here: one is that there is a small bug in the latest version: if you close the program while it's streaming, it does not fully close and you need to reboot. For now, simply stop the streamer before closing the app (always good practice anyway). The other thing is that the interface between VidBlaster and the streaming client has a memory. If something happens and VidBlaster does not update for whatever reason, the last image will be memorized (always better than a blank screen!). As VidBlaster was not running at all, you saw the last image you streamed out.

For those reading this topic at a later time: the bug has been fixed in v0.32.
