Hi!
I have a setup with 2 QuickCam Sphere and 1 Canon HF200 (Legria/Vixia) connected via Composite to a Canopus ADVC-55 and with firewire to my PC.
In Premiere I get picture and everything is fine but in VidBlaster (trial version) I get no picture.. The Canopus shows in the camera drop down menu but with no picture...
I also tried with a Sony HDV HandyCam with firewire.. It shows in the dropdown menu but I canīt select it.. I just get the next choice in line (screen capt).
Please Help! I really need the Canopus to work as this is my only way to picture from a camera 40 meters away.

No picture with v1.16 either. Tried different resolutions.
What gear to use if I need like 30-40 meters between cam and computer? With this analog setup I donīt seem to get rid of the display grafics such as volume etc. And no picture in vidblaster for that matter..
Version 1.16 should fix your Sony/firewire problem, did you check?

Update!
Canopus ADVC-55 works fine with the Canon HF200. With 4-5 cameras the price is a bit high but I gain flexibility. Still have to test how much load my computer can take.
I also tested my Canon 500D (Digital Rebel T1i / Kiss X3 Digital) via composite to the CanopusADVC-55:
1: You have to update the cameras firmware.
2: You have to use LiveWiev in Program mode to get rid of the grey letterbox
3: The output res. leaves a black border in VidBlaster. (Iīll try to capture the cam with ManyCam to see if it helps)
4: This is a laugh... You CAN NOT get rid of the grey "focus square" in the center.. Iīll get another call from Canon tomorrow, maybe they could make a fix or the 550D or 7D is the answer.
Would be sweet to get the advantage the dslr:s tele... To be continued!

Update 2!
Perfect start on my birthday!
Got a package from Canon Service containing my repaired Canon HF200 nr2. Great!
Connected the Sony HDV-cam (HDR-HCE1) via FireWire to VidBlaster = success! (some lag in HD but perfect with interlace in SD with suites me fine for now!)
Tested the USB cams (Logitech Sphere) with 15 meters extension cables = Works great. Gonna try 25 meters later today.
Yesterday I tested ATEN:s USB extension adapter (up to 60 meters) for Cat5-cat6 cables.. didnīt work although I added ac adapter. Maybe the work with other "simpler usb cameras" without tilt/pan function.
Got a call from Canon, no luck with the Canon 500D yet.. They forwarded it to some Canon super-wiz who should look into it.
Iīll be back.. / Olof

Ok.. Stuck.
Sorry to jump in to this as there ar plenty of threads about it.. But I canīt find an answer. Many threads just end with a question.
I get video from all my sources with different latencys. As many have experienced Firewire give the most delay, USB and the ADVC-55 both give about 200ms.
There are discussions about using mixers and delayboxes but shouldnīt I be able to choose the cameras audio in the Audio module?
The easiest way to sync was in my mind to take the audio from the Canopus ADVC-55 but I cant get it into VB. Does this way work with EasyCap or Osprey?
I could use mixer but I donīt see how that would solve the delay issue.
Could someone with a working setup please point me in the right direction.?. Kind Regards / Olof

Replying myself.. Found some info in VB Help. Ok, so I Canīt capture Audio from a Camcorder with audio to the Canopus or a USB capture device.
This leaves me to buy a mixer as suggested by VB and some kind of Delay box I guess?
As I said, please post how you solved the audio sync issue.
