Okay, I have a canon GL2 video camera connected via firewire, as well as a Logitech USB webcamera. I can switch between these and webcamax to do a 2 camera shoot with the opportunity via webcamax to broadcast a screen shot during a webinar.
I may want to do a live broadcast from a remote location. How can I do a three camera shoot? My laptop has only one firewire input. How can I hook up three cameras and have the program recognize them?
You can create an extra firewire input by inserting a firewire IO card in your PC. Contact your PC supplier.

Just read your email.
Don't use a firewire hub, that won't work properly. I see you have a laptop, buy a PCMCIA firewire card to create an extra firewire input. Then create three camera modules and select each camera in the modules. Note 3 cameras is going to strain a laptop (which aren't as fast as desktops) so keep an eye on the CPU load.
Hi -
I am trying to run up 2 DV canon cams, a GL2 and XL1, via firewire. One is connected to the laptop on board fire wire the second to a express card firewire port. They both run up and both run load up inot the camera 1 and camera 2 window, but when I try to do anything else after I load them the freeze VB. CPU Usage with the 2 cams is under 40%. Ideas?

Assume you are running VB 0.45? If so, VidBlaster should not be the cause of this. Did you try running the cameras in another program at the same time? Sometimes Windows can become unstable when running multiple cams in firewire, although I have never seen this in Vista.
