I talked to Blackmagic support yesterday and they warned against using the Intensity Pro in any motherboard with the x58 chipset and specifically the Intel DX58SO.

Intel® Desktop Board DX58SO

The Intel® Desktop Board DX58SO (http://www.intel.com/products/desktop/motherboards/DX58SO/DX58SO-overview.htm) motherboard is currently incompatible with all x1 lane PCI Express products from Blackmagic Design. This includes the Intensity series cards as well as DeckLink SDI and DeckLink Studio. This incompatibility is being actively investigated but a possible resolution to the problem is currently unknown.

I have no issues with my EVGA X58 Micro MB. Intensity Pro works fine.

Good to know and I'm glad it works for you. And I did ask if they knew of any motherboard that would work and again they recommended not using any Blackmagic x1 bus products with the x58 chipset. In my case a need to build several matched machines going forward so I need to know that I have manufacturer support for the configuration.

Thanks for the post!

If you have yet to buy your motherboards, maybe it would be smarter to purchase MB with USB 3.0 and go with the Intensity Shuttle rather then the Pro.

So you have the Intensity Shuttle working with VidBlaster. I had surfed the forum and couldn't find anyone with a working rig. Did you have any issues or did it just work? It was next on my list to test and I would realy like to use it with laptops as soon as I find an 17 laptop with usb3. We only need 2 cameras, overlay and one player but we do need to take an analog feed from a video switcher. That's why I want at least one component input.
