View Full Version : [fixed] FME Blows up if I select Vidblaster for Audio

That's pretty much it. As soon as click the dropdown in FME to select VidBlaster for audio, FME is removed from Memory. No error, not dialog box say "error" FME just goes bye, bye.

I don't do this on purpose, its just the way things play out when I'm switch FME from the camera audio to my Mixer during the initial setup of a streaming show.

Is anyone else seeing this?

I'd love to play videos in VidBlaster that I can air on the stream but without audio-from-VidBlaster, I really can't do that today.

Don't select VidBlaster as audio source, that's not working yet (I forgot to remove that driver, ignore it please). Read the help file re streaming for further instructions.

Upcoming release (0.41) will have this driver removed so you can't accidentally select it.

is this something that will be fixed in the future?

This basically forces you to run an audio out cable from your camcorder to your computer. And also introduces audio sync issues with firewire camcorders.

Audio delay is planned for the future.

Hi Mike,

So when using FME 3, how do you get audio from a camera (connected by firewire) and audio from a player (internal video sitting on the hdd) into the stream if you can't choose Vidblaster as the audio source ?

See help. You use a mixer to mix mic and player audio. You can't use a built-in mic if it only offers audio over the firewire stream. The mixer is the audio source of FME.

When do you anticipate that the bug will be fixed and I will be able to select vidblaster for both audio and video in AME 3.

Thanks
