I have tested Vidblaster for a while now, and it works fine.

One problem though, it has to do with sound:

I have attached a headset to my pc, and I am streaming the video/audio output to a Windows Media Server. It all works fine, and my speech is streamed fine, together with video.

However, when playing a recorded video (like your "powered by" commercial) the sound isnt streamed, but the video is?

I guess it has something to do with the note about using a mixer.... but I didnt really understand that part, can you clearify? As I said, I have only attached a USB headset to my computer. What do I need?

Please help!

You've set the program to record/stream the audio from your headset, which is what it's doing.. Please read the chapter Connecting the Audio in the help. If you still don't understand, let me know.

I have already read it, but I guess I just couldnt understand why a mixer was necessary..... well forget about it.

So it seems that a mixer is absolutely necessary to have, for VidBlaster to work (in practice) ?

I have looked around and found a Behringer Xenyx
http://www.behringer.com/502/index.cfm?lang=ENG

Is this one OK? (I know close to nothing about Audio equipment so I may be far out on this one) or can you recommend another? Preferably a cheap one since the sound quality is not crucial for me.

If all you will be using is one microphone then yes, this will do fine. If you will be making productions that require a lot of microphones, invest in a model with more inputs.

Mike,

I use a mixer with VidBlaster, but then have to not use the Players to playback and video with audio in them. I can't switch to VidBlaster inside Flash media encoder because (as I've mentioned before) FME instantly disappears from memory when I do that.

Is there a way to use FME with VidBlaster and play videos back and include their sound (while using an external Mixer for mic input)?

So it is NOT possible then to just plug in one microphone into the audio card, if one mic is al that is needed? I must have a mixer even in that case?

As I said: if you only need audio from a single mic than you don't need a mixer. If you need more than one and/or want audio from the players, you need a mixer (or you can use the input Stereo Mix or What You Hear if that's available on your card).
