View Full Version : [closed] Two sizeable pips
I searched the forum but found nothing (yet)
I look for the possibility to insert two playing size-adjustable and movable pip's behind a foreground with keyed-out planes. Get it ? ;-)
I do well for the moment with two seperated effectmodules (one for the keying job, one for the pip job) but playing after each other, not both playing simultanously. Now i switch the source for the pip in the effect module..I need two both playing pip for my production
Is there something i missed in the possibilities of this wonderful program or could this become a feature request for adding the option of 2 or more size-adjustable pips in the video effect module.
Thanks

Peter, I donīt really get it. Is it something close to what I asked for in http://forum.vidblaster.com/showpost.php?p=8089&postcount=1
Can you share a video/image of how it looks like when you do (almost) what you want to do?
In the attachment you can see the situation. 2 channels behind a foreground. This foreground functions in my case as a mask.
The part on the lefttop is a pip, right under is a overlay now. What i want to is to have the plane right under also as a pip. Both pips have to play live video/screencaptures or files at the same time

I see, although I am not sure what the point with "keyed-out-planes" is. As you do it now, by adding an overlay foreground with transparent areas for the underlying, pip-positioned, videos is one solution.
I join you in this request (as I hinted on in the other thread). So repeating my thought here: a Pictures-on-Picture effect, that is source 1 and source source 2 as separate (resizable croppable) pictures over a common background. For example, source1 is a powerpoint slide, source 2 is a camera of the presenter, cropped to fit on the side of the slide over a backgrund image/color. The current split is nice, while I believe more separated videos in the video would be event nicer. But perhaps this effect would be obsolete when the new routing/matrix scheme is implemented
If we had that, you could skip adding your foreground as an overlay, and instead have it as a background to the two videos.
2 keyed out parts is maybe a better word for it.
I'm curious about the routing possibilities but the option for a second adjustable/movable/size-able pip seems so handy to me to setup
My objection to this feature is that you can already do this now with 3 VE modules (unless I understand wrong). So instead of adding very particular effects, I would suggest either building them yourself, or vote for the scripting/programming option we discussed some time ago (I think I asked if there was a scripting language for this so I did not have to reinvent the wheel).

Understand your objection. I am basically after convenience, some screen estate, and maybe module CPU efficiency (in case one module draws less power than 3)
Indeed i can use two or three VE modules to create adjustable pips. But the point is: how can i get them both on the program out?. It's either the one or the other
That's why you need the third :)
You are right !!!. I'm using the third as a vertical split now.. That i didn't see this before..
Thanks!
