The very first beta of VidBlaster Studio is now available for download for all beta testers. In this release, a lot of work and a lot of changes are coming together. Here's a brief summary..

* Rewrote the heart of VidBlaster. The entire path that video frames follow has been upgraded to a seperate thread, ensuring more efficient and consistent frame updating and full support of multi-core processors like the Intel Core 2 Quad and the new Core i7.

* VidBlaster Studio is 100% modular: configure the program choosing any number of modules you need, and position them anywhere you like. Inter-module communication ensures proper operation between modules.

* Easily retrieve previous configurations thanks to profiles support.

* For the Studio edition, new modules have been added like a Preview monitor and Video Switcher.

* Use up to 99 cameras or players!

* Several modules have been optimized for CPU usage, including the Streamer, Recorder and Video Effect modules, to allow higher resolution modes up to full frame NTSC and PAL.

* CPU usage when using cameras connected through firewire has been significantly reduced.

* Screen capture has additional features like 1:1, fixed aspect ratio, and support for extended desktops.

* Dozens of smaller additions like manual aspect ratio selection, video deinterlacing, a new video effect, additional frame rates, fading for overlays etc.

Before installing VidBlaster Studio, make sure to uninstall your previous copy first. For high quality full frame recordings, a PC with Intel Core i7 and fast graphics card is highly recommended. Note this is a true beta. If you rely on VidBlaster for daily video production, you may want to wait until the next release or use a different PC to try out this version.
