FYI: Per our earlier conversation ( http://forum.vidblaster.com/showthread.php?t=1394 ), the problem appears to stem from the use of a font called Mangal. Though I have not tried many others, no other font I've used crops at the bottom as this one did.
I was using version 1.17.
I wouldn't call this a major bug as I've been able to avoid the problem simply by avoiding the Mangal font.
