I THINK that VidBlaster is JUST what I am looking for but some confirmation of that would really be helpful. I'll describe my project and then allow you guys to comment. School Gym... we are putting a flat screen in the concession stand along with a couple of fixed cameras that will be filming the basketball court. We will also have a rear projection screen and video projector. I am wanting to "tie all of this together" so that we can choose what video is showing where. We'd also like to take the two camera inputs and do a split screen output. So bottom line, i'd like to support a number of input video devices.. lets say.. 4 inputs and say... 2 or three outputs. I would like to be able to use VidBlaster to direct video X to output Y etc as well as doing the split screen stuff.

Is VidBlaster gonna get me there ? What kind of hardware will I need in addition to the software to pull this off ? The school is a little school with not a HUGE budget but we do have money to spend...

Thanks in advance,
Mike Brungs

Hi Mike,

Welcome to the forum.

Interesting project. I'm sorry to say that's not possible at this point, as VidBlaster is designed to bring video from various sources together at one place (be it streaming, recording and/or displaying).

That said, I have given the idea of being able to stream video to different monitors some thought as it would be an interesting feature in a typical studio. You could then, for example, use VidBlaster to display images or clips on a monitor behind the presenter. If I implement this technology, you could use it for your project too.

So to answer your question: if you're in a hurry then the answer is no. If not, and you may even like to see (and help) this come to life, then the answer is yes.

That's as honest as I can answer this question, hope it helps you make a decision.

Mike

OK... so lets take the two independent outputs out of the equation... and say that we just have one video output... am I back in the game ?

Yup, no problem.
