What about having the Skype video feed made available as a camera option in VidBlaster's camera module?
I have no idea how this would work, but I would guess it would use less CPU resources than using screen capture to bring the Skype video in.
A feature like this would slingshot VidBlaster way ahead of any competition.
Thoughts or other ideas?
Still not possible. Have been working on this for the past year discussing it with various programmers, commercial developers of skype software and even skype itself, but until skype decides to make this available in their API (http://forum.vidblaster.com/showthread.php?t=1171) the best way is still screen capture.
For oovoo I have been working (http://forum.vidblaster.com/showthread.php?p=4442) on a more automated way of screen capture, but that stranded due to oovoo changing its marketing. The underlying technology would still be screen capture btw.

Funny how I was oblivious to what others were saying about Skype until I needed it myself. Here's to Skype becoming more VidBlaster-friendly.

Looks like a new oportunity for this is comming. If not Skype, why not Google Hangouts?

Interesting. Now all I need is a contact inside google that will give me access to the video streams. Just like with Skype, an API does not yet mean access to the video. Anyone from google reading this? :)

Thanks. I've been in touch with some google developers and used various outlets to request the feature we need, but so far it has not been implemented.
