This was a remarkable year for VidBlaster, and for me. At the end of 2009 I decided to see how far I could take VidBlaster if I'd put enough effort, time and money into it. Besides longer working hours, this also meant moving from a bedroom to a real office/studio. What was I thinking.. VidBlaster's popularity skyrocketed and I was suddenly running a company instead of coding away on a hobby project. As a result my company had its best year ever and VidBlaster's future looks very bright indeed. On the downside, I suddenly no longer had time to answer all emails, talk to every client, and had to enforce strict rules to keep the forum neat and tidy. I made new friends, and new enemies, and the latter is hard if it's in your nature to please everyone. I guess you could say that, even at 40+, I am still learning to grow up.

Another result of all of this is that I was too tired to talk to you guys, as I used to do in my show Testing 123 (http://testing123.mevio.com/). My plans for 2011, besides taking care of my health by not working too hard, is trying to pick up my old show again. Feel free to remind me!

Thank you all so very much for your understanding, your help and your loyalty and for making VidBlaster one of the most popular live video production tools in the world. I promise you you ain't seen nothing yet.

Have a wonderful Christmas, or whatever it is you celebrate in your part of the world, and see you in 2011!

Mike

Thank you for your hard work and all the "I wants" for Vidblaster. Thank you for castblaster because if that company did not need a program I would have to work making a podcast. =)

Vidblaster is the Christmas gift that keeps on giving. This will be my third year to stream some live Christmas caroling from our family and Vidblaster just keeps getting better and better. Merry Christmas Mike and family!

Mike..best wishes for a Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and another year of success with VB. Now is the time to relegate some authority and form a support group of professionals, who if they cannot answer all the inane questions about VB can then contact you for further instructions? I intend in the near futhre to make money using VB after years of testing and VB will be the anchor for the entire operation.

P.S. Thanks for the "early" release of 1.22. I promise not to submit any bug reports* until the new year.

* unlikely as they may be. :)

Merry Christmas everyone. Here's to a prosperous 2011.

And thank you Mike for an early Christmas present. The latest version is great and we all look forward to the coming year and what it represents for VIDBlaster. As others have mentioned, if there's anything we can do to help with the growth, don't hesitate to ask.

Cheers!

I'll add my belated Merry Christmas after traveling home to Canada for the weekend. VB has been a great addition for us, and we're continuing to improve our webcasts.

Now, if only Santa had brought me an i7 laptop! I thought that I'd been a good boy all year. :(

This is just an update using the new version 1.22.
I run an i7 and up until now the CPU usage has crept up into the 80% range.
With VB 1.22 I am running two Panasonic 3ccd cameras and two Lifecams via USB.
When streaming my CPU usage is never above 48% no matter what I throw at it.
Am broadcasting at 640x360 Frame rate 29.97 and is very smooth on UStream.
As Mike tweaks this program it gets better and better. Thanks
