Hey,

First of all I must congratulate you on making such a feature-rich and well made program. I am particularly intrested in online video streaming, but I want todo it with audio without a mixer. In my day to day use I use program called "Virtual Audio Cable" that creates "Virtual" line-in/microphone audio devices. In order to use this with vidblaster it would idealy require a preference to set which audio device you want to output to, skype been a great example.

Hope you understand what I mean, if not feel free to ask q's.

Thanks,
Matt/ajaX

Hi Matt,

Welcome to the forum.

The mixer is to mix input signals, i.e. microphones and audio from the player modules and other sources. I can't see how a VAC will replace the mixer.

In skype, there is an option to select what device the audio outputs too. I was suggesting that if you enabled an option like that, people could use a virtual audio cable as a virtual sound device to output the audio too, then you can select it in say ustream or stickam. This feature would be for people who don't use microphones but use it for playback of pre-recorded items.

Im bad at explaining it, but hopefull you will get the idea.

edit// The idea behind been able to select a virtual audio device as an output device means if you just want to use the audio from playback (video's etc) you don't have to select Stereo Mix on ustream/stickam - instead you would use the direct output which is been fed into the virtual audio device... meaning you won't broadcast any windows sounds (which is always a pain).

Thanks.

Ah, yes I understand. I will come up with a solution for this, but it may be a while. Meanwhile, if your sound card has a channel called "stereo mix" or "what you hear" you can use that. Or simply take an audio cable and route it from line out to in.

I edited my last post as you were replying, explaining why stereo mix isn't always ideal. Thanks for your reply though, I will await eagerly!

I want to combine your request with this (http://vidblaster.com/forum/index.php?topic=400.0)one as it would solve both. My only concern is how to set all modules at once, which you would require. Please continue this discussion in the new thread.
