I'm building a small audio player for VidBlaster, any suggestions what it should look like? Keep in mind, to keep the work load down, I prefer to use components (i.e. buttons, sliders, track bars) we already have, but they can of course be arranged in any manner. The only free form that I do welcome is the peak meter, as I've never been extremely satisfied with the design I made for the Audio module.

PS: this would be the VidBlaster equivalent of the compact Player 1U in StudioRack (http://studiorack.com/).

Record, Stop , and Save are my only requirements, Oh , and recording time just like the Recorder module.

Will it be possible to use this module along with Recorder at same time?

It's a player Allan, not a recorder. And I am inviting UI designs, so get out your Paint and start cutting & pasting :)

What about to include a counter/timer so you can see time of playing.
Btw i searched about timer/counter for video player and found something about hovering the mouse over progress bar show you time, but is not working where I can found info about how this works?

Another great StudioRack's feature to be included audio fade on stop should be awesome (StudioRack rocks), sorry I know is about UI interface but ....

Thanks Paul. And yes, not interested in features yet, just the look of the player. I figured I'd start easy with the simplest of players, hence my reference to Player 1U of StudioRack.

I use VB for a podcast about contemporary classical music, which has lots of very soft sound as well as lots of very loud sounds. It would be very useful to us to have a volume slider on an audio module to make quick changes. (It would also be nice to have one on the video player module).

Thanks, but that already is in Player 1U. I feel I am being misunderstood here, my question is not about functionality as that has already been establish on the StudioRack forum, it is about design. Looks. Positioning of controls. See my first post.

I guess you can still use same audio design, but add two other tabs to accomodate:

TAB 1 - Volume Level Control for Master | Players | Recorder
TAB 2 - Equalizer
TAB 3 - Mini Compressor (to control the sound Threshold)

Sorry, but this is not what I am asking for in this topic. See my first post. You must take the word "look" literally, this is about looks, not functionality. When it comes to UI design I am creativelly challenged and spend way too much time on it, which is why I am looking for a UI designer (http://forum.vidblaster.com/showthread.php?t=1844). I figured while I had not found one I'd ask the forum members. Not had much luck with that

I've come up with this design for a compact audio player (3 shown)

Thanks to Marco van Zelst for his design ideas.
