I'd like to see each module have its own volume fader - particularly useful when playing audio files behind the live camera feed; such as background music.

This seems to me a good request. Anther good point would be to (possibly) choose different line-out ports (in a multiple IN and OUT sound card like 4IN, 4OUT cards) for each player. Then you can cut backgroundmusic manually with you mixer when starting another player. However, this is for real studio use....
