View Full Version : DeckLink Intensity Pro for Video out
Anyone using the Intensity Pro PCIe for Video out?
I am researching this approach for Video out to a DVD Recorder to capture Program direct to DVD. Need S-Video in to DVD recorder.
How is CPU usage? And Video quality?
I currently use EXT Monitor and then convert from VGA to S-video but, I loose a lot of quality and is a pain to keep it adjusted. I am looking for better solution.

Allen,
What model DVD recorder are you using?
Tom
It is a Toshiba DVD recorder/player with built in VHS and no tuner. I cant remember the model number since I had to change up my system build due to availability. No HDMI input. just composite or S-video

Are you thinking about upgrading your DVD recorder to HDMI?

HDMI in? I don't think there's something like this on market in reasonable price.
Alan, how do You convert VGA to s-video?
I have the Intensity Pro sending a composite out to a dvd recorder.
It does work but the picture is not as good as the record and stream module.
Not sure the best description but the video out from the intensity pro is blocky and not does do well with motion.
The audio out from the sound card and video out from the intensity pro card are in sync with release 1.23 and were not in previous releases.
CPU usage is 25-30%
The setup is an intel i7 processor on windows 7 with 8GB ram on a Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD3P motherboard.
Video input one is svhs on an osprey 210. This receives the output of a data video switcher mixing four cameras. Three canon xha1, one canon hv30.
Video input two is composite on an osprey 210. This receives the output of a wireless vga to ntsc converter.
Modules used include:
2 camera II
1 Streamer
1 audio
1 recording (records to a usb drive as wmv)
1 video out (intensity pro)
1 Monitor
will be adding a player and overlay module at a later time.
The dvd recorder is used only in the event of a problem with the wmv recording. So far we have never had to use the dvd :) :)
@Tom , No I want to keep what I have for DVD. Just looking to improve quality and make it easier to run.
@Rafal. I currently use a PC VGA to Video Converter (http://www.svideo.com/vga2videosmall.html). It was cheap and works OK but, I have to keep it adjusted and sometimes have to re-calibrate it every time I fire it up, (sharpness, flicker, and zoom adjustments to keep 640x480 in focus and clear picture). What a pain. I want plug and play.
I also have not seen anything with HDMI in for DVD recording (copy write protection)
