View Full Version : [closed] VidBlaster unresponsive, Camera II-related?
Avoid the UAC if you run VidBlaster, UAC and DirectShow do not go well together, especially if you have a screen capture running. Close VB before UAC then restart, or move to W7.

This is an early bug report and I still need to pin point what causes the problem. Since I have little time, and it's a complex setup, I would appreciate what kind of logging info/approach would help us nailing it down.
I have a pretty complex setup with around 2 cam1, 2 camII, 4 effect modules, 3 players, 4 overlys, running 1024x576 25fps streaming and recording with 1.36 and Windows 7 64bit and yes - the XtremeRGB-card...
This morning, during I livecast, I got a problem with my remote PTZ camera controlled via a web interface. I closed it's browser and re-started the "Vivotek Wizard" which has to pass the Windows UAC, do a search on the LAN for a camera, and show any found Vivotek Cameras. During this process, after I OK:ed the UAC, VidBlaster sort of became unresponsive.
I first noticed this when trying to move the Wizard window out of VidBlaster's sreen estate. The Wizard window left those white tracing windows if you understand what I mean. It was impossible to get in touch with VidBlaster. Not even via the task bar or the task manager. Fortunately VidBlaster was still streaming, and I had a good camera shot selected. (Link to how I rescued the live situation (http://forum.vidblaster.com/showthread.php?t=2387)).
Back at the office I was able to replicate this problem a number of times with the same equipment and profile. It only occured when I was streaming AND recording AND was using Camera II modules. I tried exactly the same setup, but replace the two Camera II modules with Camera I. No problem. And when I replaced back to Camera II, the problem re-appeared.
I must say I have really put VidBlaster 1.36 to the limits for the last few weeks, doing all kind of dangerous things and not having any problems - as long as I am not using Camera II modules.
What I will do next is to try and replicate the whole thing with less modules and not using the Xtreme card. But as I said, any hint on what kind of log info Mike might need is appreciated.
No idea what happened here.. My reply to this message suddenly turned up somewhere else, and when I moved it back it ended up above your post. Someone's been moving posts around?

hi, Mike.
v1.36 Camera (II) of the "deinterlacing" about.
- VC440e was stable during use. (Deinterlacing when selecting OK)
- Intensity-pro is unstable when used. (1280x720, HDMI input, deinterlacing is selected cameras (II) module is black.
Using the computer: i7 2600k, RAM: 4G (2200MHz), SSD: 80GB, WIN7-64bit
You cannot deinterlace a progressive video signal.
