Today installed a BM Decklink Quad to feed 3x SDI (SD 720x576) camera to VB and use the fourth as SDI output. Al seem to work fine

Although... when using the deinterlacer (Cam II module) the input turns to black.

Anyone familiar whit this effect?

I have experienced the exact same problem with BM Intensity pro cards plus (Cam I) modules don't see the BM cards at all.
I have seen this discussed in other post but with no resolution. Also I would love it if VB could see the BM audio inputs.

Hi Edward,

Did you find a work-around? So far I can't get the system working the way I'm looking for...

- VB Studio
- 3x SDI SD (576/50i) camera (trough Decklink Quad)
- 2x Player Module playing music clips and bumpers
- 1x Video Output (port 4 of Decklink Quad)

I also can't see the DL card when using CamI

Quick fix would be to use type I (check Help for correct settings). I'll try II when I'm in the office to see if there is a problem with the deinterlacer.

Setting up some tests. Meanwhile, off topic, is the Quad full duplex, i.e. it can in- and output at the same time? I know the Duo is not so am a little surprised to hear. Would be great though.

@Edward: all BM cards work fine with VB, but you must read the Help for pointers. It is a lot easier to use Camera module type II though as it allows for local settings. Make sure to use a recent version as this has not always been so.

Hi Mike,

The BM DL Quad has only 4 framebuffers. This means it can handle max 4 signals at the samen time. They can be any combination of in and outputs though...

I started with the good old Intensity Pro and can confirm it does not work with deinterlacer. I know many use this card, including me, regularly but I guess most use progressive video with it. I assume you do not have that available? How about using half frame resolution? I assume the exact same problem plagues the Quad.

Camera I works fine btw, including its deinterlacer.

Meanwhile I'll check my code and escalate this to a bug.

I can check CamI later this afternoon. It would be nice if CamII works, bust if CamI does the job I'm happy fot today ;-)

From the size of the stream on the site it looks like you only use half frame so moving to that would be even better as it saves CPU and requires no deinterlacer at all..

A fix will take some time, a usable release some more (as I am working on a new switcher) so suggest you find a temp solution for the next (few) week(s).

That really did make me laugh out loud. (...because at a different time that could have been me!) :)
