From tomorrow (4th of July 2011) on Dutch nr. 1 radio station (www.radio538.nl) launches there first TV-channel with VidBlaster studio. Peter Hazenberg of Amsterdam based company VideoBrix engineered and implemented a state of the art television studio designed for one-man operation. As part of the RTL group, Radio 538 will roll-out several TV-channels later on this year.

Nice. No UPC here so can't see it. Is it used for the entire channel, or just the live radio studio part? I hope some more details become available so I can use this for a news post.

It is a TV-channel next to there radio station. The playout video clips for 23 hours and from 16:00 till 17:00 the to a daily Top 10 live with VidBlaster :-)

If VB could play files back-to-back (playlist) without a glitch in between, they would love to use VB 24x7 (also the "TakeOnStop" does this glitch)

A nice "Remaining Time" counter and the CamII module with de-interlace would be nice but so fare we found a work around...

I'll try to make some pictures this afternoon

Cool. It would be extra cool if they would play the new Cuba/remix (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kcuhZ55By8E) summerhit, as my son was the cameraman for that clip. It would be a family moment :)

There's been a lot of requests for a more advanced playlist module, but I have been looking for inspiration how to go about making it. Maybe this would be a good opportunity to get some hands-on experience (by visiting the studio) or at least have direct feedback. I'll give it some more thought.

Cool! Looking really good!

For playlist feel free to try this one: http://www.gopeking.net/playlist.zip
It is a work in progress, but it makes for a seamless playlist with pretty good control and shows up as a camera source in Vidblaster.

Thanks Daniel! It seems that the download of your playlist.zip doesn't work. Do you have mirror? I really interested to test!

Looks nice. Plays smooth!

How do I select your player/playlist into VB (player)?

Mike

I think it should show up as video source in the Camera module. Would really prefer this would be a true plugin.

I got it working. Seems to do fine in terms of glitches (or better say no glitches ;-) but so far I can't set the output resolution to something I use in VB.

We use VB 1024*576. Daniels Player set only 720*576 (4:3 or 16:9) or 1280*720

Well, the resolutions are taken directly from video standards... Video and computer resolutions are a hazzle. Computer resolution 1024x576 is the same as video resolution 720x576 16:9... Just make sure you check the correct aspect ratio in the VB camera module. There are also a couple of threads in this forum that talks about video vs computer resolutions...

I'm quite aware of resolutions ;-)

Now 30 minutes before take-off ;-) Get back to this later today...

Thanks so far!

New version uploaded to the link above... This one is a little more slick and easy to use. Also includes a quickstart guide to automation features.

Peter, how did the first show go?

Mike, your software ROCKS!

Everything that could go wrong went wrong except your software ;-) I'm in the (international) broadcast industry for over 15 years and have never met clients prefering a software solution over there traditional hardware... till yesterday :-) My compliments!!!

Of course I have my wishes regarding CAMII de-interlace and smooth playlist (solved by Daniel?) Also the possibility to assign at least the 4 lower rows of the Launchpad to the first 16 source would be a big improvement to the usability.

You maded my day yesterday! Thanks you! :-)

Great to hear VidBlaster held up. I hope to get some more material from you and of course permission to publish on the blog. Meanwhile next release will support 16 inputs on the launchpad. I think the advanced playout system is in good hands with Daniel.

I'll get you more "material" next week. I'm looking forward to 2.04 ;-) and Daniels ability to support square pixel resolutions as the 1024*576 I use a lot...
