I use a Behringer 2442 ( NON USB ) mixer. to quote someone else in this form usb is the devil.. lol I have 2 sound cards in my system. The reason for this is for broadcasting audio and skype audio. I have the SUB 1-2 off the board into the LINE IN on sound card 1. THIS is the soundcard that Vidblaster uses for audio input.
I then have the audio out of soundcard 1 to a channel on the board. This way I get sound from THAT PC onto the board.
Next I use an AUX 1 OUT to the LINE IN on soundcard 2. I turn up aux on each channel I want to got the skype call. This way I can turn off the busses to 1-2 using the buttons next to the fader, whenever I don't want a channel on the air. You have to configure skype to send its audio to the Line out on soundcard 1. Skype has done a good job about cancelling talkback so there isn't much of a need for a mix minus, but I still don't send the aux 1 from the input channel from that PC. I knwo this is confusing.. lol It even is when Im standing infrom of it which I am not. One day I will do a video for this. I have another pc using skype JUST for audio calls. I also use the Main outputs for our Monitor Mix, this is what is in our headphones. This way the switcher and camera guys can talk without being on the air, I just dont' send their audio to sub 1-2. again confusing but effective. Hopefully this helps someone or just makes you think! LOL My show is a trainwreck, but we're workign on it! check us out, Sundays 6pm pst. http://www.tjoshow.com
