What happens now? Vidblaster used to be very up-to-date but, not only it takes for ever to release new beta versions, but it's a bunch of needless new features that are being added to VB. I know Mike is gonna ban me for expressing my views, or he will remove this message, I don't care.

Marc,

Are you a registered user? If so, you should have your status changed.

I see from your profile that you joined this forum in January of this year. Since the first of the year, there have been eleven releases of new beta versions. That's eleven in seven months. That's 1.57 releases per month. I doubt you'll find another similar product that releases new versions at that pace. Try trolling the Webcast forum and listen to those users fuss about waiting six months or more for a new release.

Fortunately, you are a free man. You can come and go as you chose. No one is forcing you to continue to use VidBlaster (Trial version, maybe?).

Of course, you recognize that VidBlaster's developer can only improve and add features to his product if people buy it, and he can earn a living. So, maybe its time to put your money where your mouth is, buy a license and become a licensed user.

A suggestion: perhaps instead of haranguing the developer, you can offer some new ideas of features you need or would like to see.

I can somewhat understand the frustration, as the last few releases have meant nothing to me. All the advanced features of API are useless to me, all the while features like audio delay (which is still promised sometime this year I believe) goes unmentioned. Deinterlacing on camera II is a major feature as well, since the majority of us non-professionals are using cameras that have to be deinterlaced, computers that would benefit from using camera II, and shoestring budgets that dont afford us broadcast or studio. The gap between the casual or not for profit user and those that are making a living (or part thereof) with vidblaster is growing and the features tell it. No offense to Mike, as it is his software and time, but those without bigger budgets would like to know that their needs are still being considered.

Well...I would have to say that I own a license for Studio and I do need some Broadcast functionality that Studio does not offer. Would I like to see some of the Broadcast modules added to Studio, of course. I may have to just try an bite the bullet and save for the Broadcast version license upgrade. I too am on a shoe string budget if you want to even call it a budget. I will say this; Vidblaster is the most complete application in it's class that I have seen so far, especially at it's price point. And that goes for all versions of Vidblaster. Before I decided to purchase a license, I did some extensive research on both the hardware and software sides. Forget about hardware. If you are on a limited budget such as myself then buying a hardware solution that accomplishes what any version of Vidblaster does is completely cost prohibited. As for beta releases and end user input goes, I personally think that Mike is developing and improving upon Vidblaster and a constant rate. There are noticable differences and additions being done. All you have to do is read the posts and check their dates in all of the forums to see the freaquency of the releases and changes. Also, replies to questions and comments are almost instant and not just from the forum users but also from Mike.

@Marc Lane, Mike doesn't have to explain to you when and how will be the new release will come out. And I love to expect the cake under wraps.
