Actually you never paid for a pro version, not even a home version. I upgraded your key several times without charge so no need for the angry faces..

You mean it reverts to the trial version? Or does it say expired? Is it asking for your product key? If so, try entering it (your product key, not the activation key). Let me know how it goes but please be clear in your bug report. I think you must have installed Studio once, and it's now being recognized (and properly judged invalid).

yes i did. i paid 99$ for the pro version when it cost that much.... it says trail version but it's studio because it has a switcher and preview window

i had studio but removed it and put v39 pro back on and it worked. i uninstalled pro v39 and installed .46

I can confirm the same activity. After entering my product key, clicking OK and restarting to enter the Activation Key, everything is froze solid. I can't even click on the "X" to remove window or click on "Later."

Thanks Bruce. I'll have to try to simulate that here. Meanwhile can you continue with v0.39 (use the link on the site)?

Mike

I should have added to uninstall the old version first, then install 0.46. That seems to do the trick (according to Bruce).

;D OK... here's what I did to get everything up and running properly... which it is!

1. Uninstall any previous version of Vidblaster first! (should have realized that)
2. Re-boot PC
3. Install the new .46 Home/Pro Version.
4. Re-boot PC
5. Clicked later at the Activation splash window and it recognized me as a registered Home owner

The program works exactly as promised with 7 modules available in Home. The flexibility that 7 modules affords is great, giving you many options depending on your current task. I'm extremely pleased with the new Home version and appreciate all your work to bring about it's release Mike.

If I can help anybody else, you can email me at bruceturner@gmail.com or Skype me at riverbruce. Have a great day and enjoy the new version... I know I will!

Expanding upon my previous post... I also entered my original Product Key, then copied the red text as instructed and sent it to activate@vidblaster.com and shortly received my new Product Key, this enabled me to get rid of the splash screen. Keep in mind as I mentioned in my previous post that the program did recognize me as a registered Home owner, but to get rid of the splash screen I did the above.

Also... just a little bug report Mike, the transition button on the Video Effects module forces a hard "take" and won't do the fast, medium or slow dissolve.

OK... last post for a while. I am putting the new Home version through some testing at my Muse Coffee Company, Ustream page. Take a peek if you wish.

I'm using a Dell Latitude D620 Laptop, Core 2 Duo processor, 2.5 GM of RAM, Vidblaster .46 Home, Adobe FME 2.5 (didn't like 3.0 much), Logitech Pro 9000 and Microsoft LifeCam VZ 6000 cameras (pretty basic for this test). (running in the background are 8 tabs of Chrome browser, Skype and Trend Micro anti-virus program)

I'll be streaming video clips from previous Muse shows interspersed with my live video.

Oh... and most important of all... CPU is staying in the 30% - 40% range. Awesome!

i did un install before installing .046 but bruce you lost one of your registrations by sending to the activate robot because the program did not see your reg.

Tony

i did what bruce did on the other computer and it's doing the same thing freezing up after i enter the product key because it says it's not registered. back to .39

Tony

so no temp fix?

I'm having the same problem. I uniinstalled .39, rebooteded, intalled .46, rebooted. Ran the program, it asked me to enter product key or do trial. I entered product key, it said to restart program. Program restarts and freezes at enter activation or later choice. Can't do anything from there.

I'm wondering if I was suppose to select use trial version and then enter registration through registration menu.

Unistnalled and reinstalled several times, same thing. If I install .39 it still works and remembers me as activated already.

Is there something I can delete in the registry to get through this?

Are you 100% sure it freezes, there's no dialog that's hidden (use Alt-Tab to see hidden dialogs) that's waiting for an Enter?

I just tried it on an xp installation and same problem

One other thing I installed the studio 46 and it ran fine in trial mode. reinstalled the pro 46 and got back to where I could enter product key or use trial. I was able to use trial just fine. But once I enter product key it does what I described in previous posts.

So installing studio seems to reset it to some extent, back to where you can use the trial.

the only thing on the screen is the activation/later dialog, you click on it and the computer makes that noise that says you are clicking on something you are not supposed to click on.
That confirms what I suspected, there is a dialog underneath and it's waiting for your action, i.e. there is no freeze. Try Enter a couple of times, or Alt-Tab to find the dialog as I suggested earlier. Or is it Alt-Esc? I always forget.. Or wait for the next release.

Okay hitting return twice solved the problem. I Alt tab to something called 'info' though it doesn't display I hit return twice and the Vidblaster continued to load up.

Tony
14 Apr 2009, 20:27
it asks for the activation code and i can't even enter anything. it just makes a ding (sound) noise and i have to use task manager to get it to quit the program. i put back .39 and it works fine. i press use continue button and it wont accept it (i'll try again but if not) i will wait for the next release again :(
remember this is after i enter the product key and it asks to restart the program.

is there a way to find previous activation codes it mine is lost for the machine?

15 Apr 2009, 12:44
Close every other window and application you have open, then hit return twice.
Or use alt-tab and cycle through and select "info" and then hit return twice.

i got it working but had to send another code to the activate robot so could i get that credited back please?

BTW the CPU does use less power for the vidblaster from previous on my little Pentium 3.4G HT ;)
