I'm the media production teacher at k-9 independent school and am ready to begin furnishing our new TV studio for the students- have been running Panasonic analog mixers and Adobe Premiere 1.5 for years but now it looks like the VidBlaster STUDIO will fit my needs, but does anyone have suggestions for what to ask my IT guys for in terms of the computer? I have one chance to ask for what I need without a budget hassle. I'll be running Sony VX2000 cams via firewire and will be both streaming and broadcasting throughout the school live. i;'ll get an off the shelf computer unless I give them specs.
Looking forward to great things- found the product at NECC in San Antonio last year.

Hi Henry,

If budget's not an issue, get a Dell XPS 730x H2C (http://www.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/desktop-xps-730x). That's currently the best money can buy.

Thanks, Mike, well thats a bit much ;)

Around $1K-1.5K is more like it. Just looking for tips when ordering the machine- XP or Vista? Home or pro versions, etc.,.

Then it all depends on the setup you will be using and the resolution and frame rate. Check out the Help under System Requirements.
