I had some work done on my computer and discovered a single file containing 170 GB of .pek files (apparently used in Premiere). Because I had no projects in process, I knew they must have been temporary cache files from editing or rendering or DVD authoring. Those files were removed and the computer is running very fast now. Not sure if that has anything to do with the VB problem, but wanted to give you the background.
Presently when I click to open VB the initial information screen comes up but that is it. It will not continue to load program. I tried to reload VB again with the initial screen still up and it told me VB was already running. However, the Task Manager did not indicate that it was running. With nothing at all running according to the Task Manager, the opening box of VB was still up.
I then rebooted the computer and re-downloaded and installed VB (ver. 2.04) again. This time it installed fine. However, when I open VB again the same thing happens. Because I cannot get the program to go beyond the opening screen and then cannot get rid of the opening screen, I have to reboot computer everytime I want to TRY and start VB.
The only other clue I have is that when I shut the computer down a screen comes up and tells me that a "Translator" is not running properly.
Does this "Translator" have anyting to do with my problem or does anyone have a suggestion?
