For the record I'd like to list this as a feature request: The option to have the player module freeze on the last frame of the video instead of automatically rewinding. The main reason is that this is a standard behaviour of VT machines in a TV studio. For good reason too - if the vision switcher doesn't manage to cut away from the VT before it reaches the end of the file, it's far better to have the last frame paused than to go back to the start. This can happen if the operator is a bit slow or if the presenter's voiceover takes a bit longer than expected. You'll see this sometimes in the news when there's a brief freeze at the end of a recorded item. It's not pretty but it's less of a visual jar than going back to the first frame.

I understand the logic of not having this as the default behaviour for Vidblaster but if there's any chance of having it as an option, I think it would be a great safety feature.

BTW I recall the bad old days of tape-based machines. When an item ran overtime anything could happen - usually a nasty glitch or perhaps the remnant of some previously-recorded item. Sometimes even a feedback loop. When digital machines came in it was really nice to have that scenario eliminated.

+1 This is very logical.

Plus, I think it would be nice if the "Play" button changed to "Pause" when a video is playing, e.g. same as "Stop" if auto rewind is off.
