Hello fellow broadcasters. I have exciting/ maybe obvious news:
Lately I have been trying to optimize my "vidblaster workflow". My setup is:
HP Z600 Workstation Xeon 6 Core (2proccessors) , 12g Ram, SSD
3 BM Intensity Pros
3x Canon HV30 (1080 being down-converted to SD by BM card)
My PC handles this fine, especially since the recent HD improvements of 2.10
The only time my computer starts to choke is if I use a high global resolution like 1280x720 or higher. Everything begins to be LESS zippier. Also, the recorder module sends my CPU (when in 1280x720) to about 90%.
ALL THAT HAS CHANGED. I was playing around in the Bios and stumbled on HYPERTHREADING. It was disabled. After enabling it and doing some tests...the improvements are amazing.
I no longer need to downscale to SD (I now feed vidblaster 3 1920x1080 streams). Also, I'm using a global res of 1280x720, the recorder, streamer and about 10 other modules. CPU= 40%!!!!!
CHECK TO SEE IF YOU HAVE A "HYPERTHREADING" option.
