View Full Version : [closed] Record Level Jumps after Record Started

I've seen a problem with VidBlaster that I don't see with StudioRack or CastBlaster that affects the Recording level. If I set the recording level either in VidBlaster or in my Realtek Audio control panel for the proper level from my external mixer (line input), the Record level jumps ups to the 3/4 level (from 1/4) after I click on Record and start talking or playing audio through the recorder. This overdrives the audio input and I have to reduce the level before I can continue. It looks like there is some sort of automatic level control that occurs after the recording is started that I can't override.

My Realtek Audio control panel has a Record knob and I can see it change after starting the VidBlaster recording. The VB Recorder level slider doesn't change until I click on it and try to readjust the record level. Normally the VB Recorder slider and the control panel Record knob moves together except when this record volume jump occurs.

I've never seen this problem with other recording software (including CastBlaster and Studiorack) nor with earlier versions of VidBlaster (version 0.16 and earlier).

Anyone else seeing this problem?

I was able to resolve the problem by updating my RealTek audio driver. I was using version 5.10.0.5268 and upgraded to 5.10.0.5502.
