Mike. I am testing the Pro version I noticed that it was only 320x240. Will the pro version support my HD signal at say 600x338? I will be uploading to USTREAM Pro via Flash Media Encoder. I just want to make sure that VIDBlaster can handle a widescreen 16:9 format before I purchase. Thanks again for your great work.

Eventually I will introduce more resolutions, not exactly which ones will end up in Pro and which ones in Studio, but of course widescreen will be among the first.

I want to make clear that the program accepts any format, either in video clips or cameras, it converts everything to the proper format in real time (now 320*24). I'm sort of waiting which format I will add next, depending on which one has most demand. I bet it will be a widescreen format.

that would be a great option

Hi there,

I agree that a widescreen format would be a real benefit, as most of the new content is already produced in 16:9 or at least provide an option to reencode 16:9 into 4:3 Letterbox.

Cheers

VidBlaster should scale and letterbox already. If not, please create a topic under bug reports and explain what you are doing and what happens. A link to any testing material would help.

Which widescreen format would you like to see first, 320*180 or 427*240? Don't forget bandwidth issues if you want to stream..

I don't know if it is possible but I would love a save file res of 640x480 (full screen) and 640x352 (widescreen) as this is standard for the iPods and thus great for podcasting... I doubt that this res will work currently for streaming though.

I will only gradually increase resolution. First of all it is not interesting for streaming, second these higher resolutions will demand faster PCs. I am still thinking about how to prevent crashed PCs because users have a slow PC and select a highres mode. Even though the program is fine, it may get a bad name because of this. One of the results of this thinking process is the CPU Usage window I introduced in v0.30. I am now evaluating if this helps.

So, gradual increase in resolution. Hence the two choices I offered above.

PS: the iPod Video uses 320*240.

I think that it would be great to have the choice, so that I can set it depending on the computer. audience requirments etc would be great.
