Hello everyone,
I have 2 canon GL2 (firewire) on my xp machine, the workstation detects both cameras . After detection is completed I open Vidblaster and it shows up 2 Microsoft DV camera and VCR, I try to select one camera on each camera module but It only displays one. I have just 1 firewire card with 2 ports on this dell precision 690. I saw on previous post that some people where having the same situation but I cant find the solution. Does connecting a additional firewire card should solve my problem? Thanks!!

Hi joepr

Please read the help in VidBlaster... Mike has done a real good job with it...

One thing you can test is to have all the cameras pluged in and on and the restart your computer... and start VidBlaster and see
what happens...

Most people has experience problems running more than one FW camera on the same "Firewire bus".

So if you buy a extra firewire card you can attach the second camera... and if you want more cameras get more firewire card...

I had the same problem, but after plug-in of the extra card - no problems...

Hello lill
The workstation have 2 firewire ports one on the back of the workstation (integrated on the motherboard) and one in the front panel. Im sure this 2 ports use the same bus so I theory I think this is causing the problem. I will try again after installing a second firewire card to see what happens.

Hi

Yes the motherboard has only one controller... I have tried to find a card with 2 controllers, with no luck...

Get back to the forum, when I have a second card...
