Hello, I am new to VidBlaster and am trying out the Pro version. In the process of converting from analog mechanical switchers and TBCs to digital switchers I am excited about VidBlaster. My main purpose is to capture multi-cam shoots and not have to spend so much time in post editing. Currently my son and I have 3 Canon XL-1 that we use and have to mix later in post. with VidBlaster I can avoid purchasing a mechanical digital switcher like a MX-50. Since I am still in the evaluating stage and not ready to sink money into a high end video capture card, has anyone had experience with a Hauppauge ImpactVCB Video Capture Board? Our computer is a HP M9040N, Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.4GHz w/3GB RAM, Windows Vista Home Premier w/ Service Pack 2, 32-bit OS with a NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS display card. The card has S-Video as a second monitor.

Ed,
This model of card has not been well reviewed on Newegg (http://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx?Item=N82E16815116020). One reviewer notes that it will only work with one camera at a time. Makes it of little use for Vidblaster which can handle multiple cameras simultaneously.
You may want to search the VB forum for this card and others. Several folks swear by the Osprey brand, but they are a little pricey.
Hope this helps. Good luck!

Thanks Tom for the advice. What would you suggest as a good card to experiment before taking the deep dive. Aslo can I call you sometime to get some business ideas tips from you. I like what you have done over in AL. We live in Warner Robins near Macon, GA.
