I just tested VidB on an Alienware M15X with WIn7 64bit. It works allright but if I choose to stream to Virtual Video Device and I try to find that in WIndows Media Encoder 9 (64bit ver) I cant see it!! No Vidblaster device available!!! What am I doing wrong?

Did you press the start button on the streamer?

If it does not show up, it is not installed and/or not registered. Try installing the program and make sure no errors occur or any program is blocking installation of filters.

Mike,

I tried this as well and experienced the same results.

Win7 64-Bit
VidBlaster 1.11 (I even upgraded from 1.10 wondering if it had installed weird)
Windows Media Encoder 9

Under DEVICES, VidBlaster is not present. However, I decided to then try it on my main production box, which is Windows XP 32. VB v1.10 is installed, loaded up Windows Media Encoder 9... AND IT'S THERE!

So I'm a bit confused. I've gotten the VVD to work under FME, and some of my other video programs, but it's not present in Windows Media Encoder.

Any ideas as to why? Or is there a manual way to "re-register" or verify the VidBlaster VVD?

I tried too (Win7 Ultimate 64bit) and Vidblaster wont show up in WME 64bit but works in WME 32bit (still in Win7 64bit) on the same machine.
Using Vidblaster 1.11.

I can confirm what Johan says, I also tried (while he was replying) the 32x version and it worked fine. Hopefully Mike can shed some light on why this is happening. The 32x version works fine so far, but of course I would love to take advantage of this 64bit OS :)

I know many have been using VidBlaster in Vista 64, but can anyone confirm the VVD works fine in that OS?

Just read another thread where, if I understand correctly, Marcus says this is only a WME problem? That would change my entire perspective on this problem. So the VVD registers and works fine in W7/64, as it is seen by FMLE, it just won't appear in WME/64?

Correct Mike. It's only WME 64bit that got problem finding the VVD..

Okay, thanks. Could be a bug in WME/64, or some compatibility issue. How bad is this? Personally I have never felt the need to use WME as it is already implemented (natively) in VidBlaster.

For me it's not a big issue since I almost never use it. If I need it I could always use the 32bit version. So if you ask me it's not on top of the list.

Johan

We try not to use beta-drivers. Since the Osprey drivers are only 32bit we use that.

After doing some testing in WME/32 I don't see that the 64 version would help me out. Yet I continue to struggle with recording from VB. I've never gotten a successful recording from VB without some sort of major audio issue. Of course, I am recording 2 hours each time, but this is driving me crazzzzzy.

When you say it works fine in FMLE, I assume this is the 32 bits version? In fact I doubt there even exists a 64 bit FMLE?
