Hi Folks,
I'm a relatively new licensed user of VidBlaster and love the software. However there's a sticky problem I'm running into with respect to the viewer (i.e. attendee) experience during my live streams.
Invariably, as the stream progresses the attendee players will fall further and further behind rather than stay up with the approximate 5 sec delay from the streaming server end.
I've noticed that if I don't encode audio this problem goes away. Also, if I stream just using Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder 3 I have the same problem unless I check the "Timecode" box.
This issue is big enough to cancel my live events because of the poor viewer experience. BTW, I've tried this with at least two streaming services (StreamAPI and StreamHoster) and two different Flash players (including a JW player) all with the same results.
It appears that for some reason the inclusion of audio causes these flash players to fall behind. I know it's the player because a reload of the player page will cause the player to show the stream only 3 - 5 seconds behind real time.
I have a new Alienware system with Windows 7 64 bit Ultimate, 12Gbs high-speed ram and an i7 Processor. My CPU burden rarely exceeds 25% during streaming and my audio is fed from a Eurorack UB802 mixer directly into the mike input of my sound card.
Your help / insight on this will be most appreciated --thanks!
Michael
