I have not been able to find anything to work for the, what I thought was a simple application, application I am trying to setup.
I am looking for a Video Mixer/Switcher that will do a simple Live Webcast with 1 Camera and Video Capture of the computer screen and broadcast it on Ustream or similar service.
Is this possible to do with VidBlaster?
Thanks for any help on this.
Yes, VidBlaster Pro does all that. Download the trial version and give it a try. All the instructions are under the help menu.

Thanks a bunch Barry....I really appreciate it and am anxious to try it as soon as I figure out what video capture card to get.
I am looking at a Hauppauge Impact VCB PCI Video Capture Board" Does anyone know if this will accomplish what I described above?
As you can tell I don't have a firm grasp on how all this ties together.....let me ask another question?
Is this how all this would work I am running the application on my PC that I want to capture the live video of. I install the Video Capture card into that computer. OK now do I need VidBlaster running on that PC or do I need a different PC and have VidBlaster running on that one and then have the video out of the Capture Card and feed that into the other PC.....and how would I feed that into the other PC....I don't know what kind of video and audio signal is fed out of the Video Capture Card and how I would get it into the other PC running VidBlaster...I assume Vidblaster wants a USB input. Would I have to somehow convert the Capture output to USB?
HELP......or can anyone point me to where I can find out how to do this....I have Googled about everything I can think of and am not having a lot of luck.
Thanks for any help on this.
Randy,
VidBlaster Pro will support up to four video sources which can be any type of video that you can pipe into your computer. The latest version can do screen capture video from the same machine running Vidblaster. You can capture the entire screen or a portion of the screen. If you want to capture the screen off another computer (or any other video source), you will need some way to get that into the computer running VidBlaster. Typically you would use a device that can covert the video from the other computer to USB or firewire and feed that into VidBlaster. This should show up as a video source that you can select in Vidblaster.
Looking at the Hauppauge Impact VCB PCI Video Capture Board description I think it's used to capture analog video/audio into the computer. You would use this with analog video cameras or other video sources that you want to display/capture on your computer. I believe VidBlaster would work with this card but only for capturing video from external sources and not for screen captures.
You can download the trial version of VidBlaster Pro and play around with the video and screen capture features.

Thanks Tom
I am trying VIDBlaster on the same PC as the application I want to capture and it is working pretty cool...along with 2 webcams and it switches great.
The only problem I am running into is with Ustream. I have set the Streamer for Use Streaming Client then I open The Ustream client and click on Broadcast then select VidBlaster for the input and I get Nothing.....Yes...I started the streaming on VidBlaster...ha. I knew you were going to ask.
Any ideas of what is going on?

Just saw the FAQ about Ustream and getting the special account......sorry.....never mind.

You should be able to stream without the special Ustream account. The special account is used with the Flash Media Encoder (FME), which gives better quality video stream.
I think something is wrong with VidBlaster 0.31 because I can't stream either. Streaming works if I install 0.30.

Thanks again Tom....guess I will have to download .30 if I can find it.
I just found the download link for .30...so I uninstalled .31 and installed .30 but when I start it up...it still says it is .31 and will still not stream.
I just looked and apparently I am still downloading .31 even though I am on the page that talks about .30.
Guess I will wait and see if they come up with a fix for this.

Yes, all the links point to the latest version (0.31). I could upload 0.30 or Mike could post a link to 0.30 if you want to try it. Let's wait for Mike to respond first. Maybe there is a quick fix.
