I have to make a choice of what software to purchase for use in a small studio in Philippines. VidBlaster, AvTake CutFour DV 3 or VJDirector2. I now have the trial version of all three programs , but have some problems regarding the choice of capture card when it comes to VidBlaster.

My question is, will VidBlaster work with a GEOVISION GV-1240 Combo Card?

I assume you do not have this card? If you do, try it with the free trial edition.

I looked up the manufacturer and there is no word of a WDM driver or DirectShow support, which every good card offers. You should verify this with the manufacturer (see also the VidBlaster documentation). If it does, it should work. Note this card has severe limitations as GV-1240 is currently not compatible with VIA series and ATI series chipset motherboards, and 64-bit Windows operating system and also does not seem to support Vista or W7.

Yes, I have checked the card and it's based on Techwell, so the card is out of the question. Other good cards might be to expensive to buy just for test, so USB is the next option. Was thinking of 8 pcs. of KWorld DVD Maker USB 2.0 (VS-USB2800D). I hope that would work.
