Default Pay Per View anyone?

Has anyone had any first hand experience in doing a pay-per-view broadcast? What service did you use? Did you make money? Would you do it again?

I'm thinking of doing one for a special soccer event next weekend, but not sure if I can pull it together by then.

Default Haven't used them yet but...

livecage offers pay per view. If I remember correctly, it is a 50/50 split.

We've been looking at doing it with some of the events we're likely to stream, weddings/funerals, obviously depending on what the actual clients are wanting. There was talk of doing a gig at a local metal-head bar where they would all play and we'd charge for people at home viewing.
Even if it was $1 a ticket I'm sure the money raised could be useful somewhere.
I can't remember the site I was going to use but I think it integrated well into ustream, I'll dig it out and post.

Regards
Dan

Update on PPV.

I've looked at PayPerLive.com. It's a PPV version of Stickam.

Having trouble finding others. Wish I knew how to write whatever was needed to do a PayPal front end to a limited access stream.

We are looking at trying to write something along these lines. I was planning to integrate it into a page and then embed a ustream clip etc, the only problem being is the original will still be available on ustream itself. so we're looking into the options here.
Not sure if ustream has an API available, which might make this easier.

Dan

Dan,

I had asked Ustream just a few days ago whether or not they had plans to institute a PPV feature. They're response was that they had tried it in the past, and to keep a watch out (which to me inferred that they are in the process of reviving it). He didn't give a date, so only they know when/if it will be released again.

Let's all keep our fingers crossed!
