Hi,
I'm pretty sure its a hardware/driver problem because if I have 2 easycap devices connected, only one will ever display the camera. This is what happens if I try to select one of the easycap's as a video source in Flash Media Encoder. One will display. The other source is black. Now, as you might know, Flash encoder only allows one source at a time so I have to switch back and forth. In any case, I have to unplug the working easycap, close the encoder, reopen the encoder, and then (sometimes) the second easycap will now display the video. Also, in XP, when you have an imaging device connected (like the easycap), it will show in Windows Explorer. When I have 2 or more easycaps, they do display as 2 different sources; usually SKT1160 and SKT1160 #2. If you right-click the easycap source, you can actually set its properties here (like NTSC or PAL, brightness, contrast, etc) and view the video. Only one easycap source will display the video. The other is always black. Often times, if I have 2 easycap devices connected, I have a hard time even displaying one of the video sources. I usually disconnect them both and only reconnect one. Thanks, Alain

I wanted to add one more personal experiecne to this thread in hopes that it might help someone who experienced my problem today.
I am running Vista32 on a Dell laptop. I had previously installed the drivers for the EasyCap 2861 version. Somewhere in my past I must have also tried using a XP version of EasyCap. In my efforts to make my Dell faster, last year I "stopped" several services including "Syntek STK1150 Service." And just recently I stopped other services with a bad result: Dell ran slower and VB did not function. So, I un-stopped a lot of these services uncluding Syntek. And then... my EasyCaps did not function. I could see a bid of still B&W video, but no motion, no color. So, with inspiration beyond my means, I thought about "stopping" the Syntek driver. And after a restart, lo and behold, EasyCaps now work just fine. So, if you have my problem, there's your solution. Good luck!
