Just got my new i7 that I bought for Vidblaster productions and did my first video. I've been testing sound and quality for 2-3 minutes and everything is perfect...
Then I did a 23 minute interview and saw that slowly that the audio and video went out of sync. About the 5 minute mark is where you start to notice it, and by the 7 minute, it's obvious. By 12 minutes, it's like watching a Chinese movie. I7 never went above 25% resource usage. I didn't stream at all. Just did a recorder capture, then saved it as a wmv file. Played it back and got a a Chinese movie. What did I do wrong? How can I fix this problem?? David |

David,
Can you provide more details of your setup: camera/video connection, sound/audio connection, etc.?

Hey guys,
I did a 25 minute video, on my new i7, 9 gigs of Ram,1 gig NVDIA video card brand new computer with VidBlaster 1.07. I was really disappointed that Vidbaster has a audio sync problem. I have a brand new 30 fps Pro logitec camera 9000 that I shot my footage with, and did a screen capture on the incomming video. So I wanted to post the video so you could see the big issues Vidbaster has with audio sync. I took 20 second clips at: 1 min 4 Min 7 Min 12 Min 21 min and 25 minutes See for yourself the audio sync issues: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EO4Xj1L_jYE Any suggestions on how to fix it? David |

Can you confirm that we are a small number of testers with this issue ? Everybody else, what do you do to have this working ? Not useing Firewire or USB ? Use of seprate soundcard or external soundcard ? Is the sound allways with a delay of 1 second ? Then we might be able to use some delay function with a pre-set of 1,2,3,4,5 seconds...

I'm using a USB, but its really not a delay issue from the start. As you can see the sound doesn't go out of sync until about minute 5-6. Streaming works fine the entire time, it's only when I record that it delays. This is a huge problem.
Any fixes? |

I use an Osprey 450 card using audio in on the card for my sound.
We are recording to WMV. 5 frames off-sync each time. Using 25% of the processor on my I7. I will change to latest Osprey-drivers before I confirm this. Will let you know how it works. JAKOB

Hi Jakob and others
Is the 5 frames off-sync constant ? Why I ask is i am about to buy a box that can delay the sound, so... it the sound delay is constant, it would be possible to set the sound delay... and the the video is not off-sync... Yes I know thats not a soulution for the future... but it will fix it, period to have it fixed in the SW/HW... @davidtrue If the delay is constant after 5 minutes, it would be possible to start the recording 5 minutes before you need... and then edit the recorded film afterwards...

We haved 5 frames constant now. We are fixing this in post. Hope that the new driver will fix this. We have a recording tommorow. After that we will change drivers.
Image looks good. Almost like the DV recorded in the camera. JAKOB

I've spoken with Tom on the issue and he says that the Audio sync and Video Sync together has been an issue for a while.
His work around is to do 5 minute videos and edit them in post production. The problem is if I'm paying someone or even myself $20.00 to do the post edit and it takes them an hour to do a 1 hour show (12 segments), and I do only 50 shows this year. That's $1000.00 in post editing expenses. I love Vidblaster, but I gotta say if the issue isn't resolved, anyone that needs to do videos more than 20 minutes long and records them, will be dissapointed in all the extra work that is involved. No matter how many great features it has. Mike, can you respond to any 3rd party software that sync's the Audio so we don't have to do all this extra work? |
